This evening celebrates Bahraini folk arts as living expressions of collective memory, featuring Ashoori, Khamari, Basta, and Dazza, each known for its distinctive rhythms and performance styles reflecting the richness of local musical heritage. Founded in 1945 in Muharraq by the late Mohammed bin Jassim bin Harban, the band became known for performing Ardha at royal gatherings, as well as presenting La’buni, Khamari, and Fjiri in local neighbourhoods. Among the earliest Bahraini bands to perform abroad, it took part in Kuwait’s Independence celebrations in 1962 and recorded traditional works for radio stations across the Gulf.
