Solo exhibition by Saudi artist Zahrah Alghamdi
Zahrah Alghamdi’s practice emerges from the soil, stone, and memory of her hometown, Al Baha. Materials carry histories and emotions, and possess the capacity to mediate between past and present. Traces of her body are materialised through the organic matter she physically engages with at the site of production. The exhibition becomes a site of inception, where her gestures are fixed in space. Rooted in her figurative drawings, the work unfolds as a theatre of figures embodying memory and shared grief, with the body as its point of departure.
