Gayane Umerova is a key figure in promoting Uzbekistan’s cultural sector globally. As chair of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation and Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration’s Social Development Department, she leads major projects like restoring the Tashkent Centre for Contemporary Arts and constructing the new State Museum of Arts by Tadao Ando. Her initiatives have brought Uzbek art to global venues such as the Louvre and Uffizi Gallery. Umerova holds an MA from Sotheby’s Institute and has done doctoral work at Oxford.
