Qalali Folk Band is one of the distinguished bands dedicated to preserving the authentic seafaring traditions of Bahrain in addition to other folkloric arts. In this year’s Spring of Culture Festival, the band presents a diverse array of performances. Among them is (Al-Fajari), a coastal art form traditionally performed on the shores or in special houses, called (Dar), by pearl divers to entertain themselves after a long fishing season. The performance also features an iconic form of vocal arts unique to Bahrain (Al-Sout), and (Al-La’abouni).
