Education

The Spring of Culture Education program continues to nurture young minds through unique artistic and cultural experiences that are free of charge as these initiatives are conducted for the benefit of all.

About

The Spring of Culture Education program continues to enrich and develop the creative energies in the Kingdom of Bahrain with a series of workshops held throughout the festival catering to different interests and skills.

During this edition of the Spring of Culture, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities presents a variety of handicraft workshops at the Al Jasra Crafts Centre, aligning with its strategy to preserve the local handicrafts traditions and ensure their transmission to future generations. The centre hosts workshops covering some of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s handicrafts such as Saff - palm weaving, Al Naqda embroidery, and basket weaving using palm fronds. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their skills throughout the different workshops from shaping clay and copper, hand embroidery, as well as highlight their creativity through jewelry design, woodworking workshops and more.

As for the Flexible Theatre at the Bahrain National Theatre, it will host a workshop held in collaboration with the Enki Performing Arts Center for those interested in contemporary dance and movement presented by Egyptian artist Kareema Bdair, her work being inspired by the mechanics of storytelling and using the body as an instrument. Participants will learn about movement design, improvisation, and composition, focusing on feelings and storytelling through movement, and creating the scene through contemporary expression accompanying music.

The Bahrain National Museum, in cooperation with the Bahrain Cinema Club, will host a workshop presented by Shaikha Suha Al Khalifa, focusing on the essential fundamental tools for creating a feature film or TV series, covering topics such as the story and thematic exploration, understanding dramatic construction, and other basics, ultimately how to put together a pitch deck.
At the Qal’at Al Bahrain Site Museum, Enkiru Kids Club is organizing a workshop for the little ones to celebrate Mother's Day during the month of March, where children participate with their mothers in decorating a special gift for them on this occasion, stemming from love and pure talent.
