About Our Education InitiativeThe SOC Education programme continues to offer free of charge, unique artistic and cultural experiences that is open to art and culture enthusiasts in Bahrain.
The series of sand sculpture workshops that took place over the past years, as a part of the festivals community works, has created a group of enthusiasts among the Bahraini community for which we are witnessing the successful outcome in this seasons education events line-up.
The Ministry of Education art teachers, who were the students of internationally renowned sand sculpture artist, Sudarsan Pattnaik will kicks off the education programme with an exciting sand art workshop for families on the seashore of Qal’at Al Bahrain. Join us in the fun!
A Calligraphy Workshop conducted by Bahraini Jaffar Hamza is a great opportunity to appreciate and learn more about this unique type of art. All teenagers and adults are welcome. Please visit the below link for an update on the venue.
The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities also participates in the education programme of Spring of Culture with various workshops and programs, which will be held in several cultural locations such as the Bahrain National Theatre, Al Khalifiyah Library and Qal’at Al Bahrain Site Museum. These include a series of workshops that focus on music and production which will take place in the Flexible Theatre at the National Theatre, such as Production 101 by Hamad Ebrahim, The art of Listening by Yousif Yaseen, Musicians and Social Media by Isa Najem, and a Dialogue Session about Music with Mohammed Hadad. Also, a series of workshops will be held at Qal’at Al Bahrain Site Museum emphasizes on traditions and crafts, such as Building Traditional Houses and learning the techniques of Al Naqda embroidery.
Moreover, Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture and Research will organize a workshop on photography by Artist Ghada Khunji at Memory of the Place - Bin Matar House.
