Spring of Culture continues to invest in developing the talent of young Bahrainis by running specialized workshops sponsored by the Economic Development Board in collaboration with local art galleries.
This year is special as we reach out to Austria where the talented Bahraini pianist Noor Al Qassim performs in Vienna in a celebration of International Women’s Day. The performance includes famous piano compositions by Beethoven, Chopin and Debussy.
Al Qassim (nooralqassim.wixsite.com/noor-al-qassim) began playing piano at the age of four and went on to graduate from Vienna Conservatory for Music and Dramatic Arts in Austria. Her career has seen her perform at several events in Europe and the Middle East. She won the first prize at the Vienna International Music Competition and the Chopin Prize at the Bahrain International Chopin Competition as well as the Best Pianist prize and distinction awards at the Kuwait International Chopin Competition and more.
Back in Bahrain, the highly experienced Bahraini artist, Abdul Rasool Al-Ghayeb, shares his sculpting-on-ceramic expertise with high school talented students and teachers from public schools.
In collaboration with the French Embassy, Albareh Art gallery and the Spring of Culture Community Programme, the French Artist Olivier Moriette will host an artistic workshop on Engraving and Etching. This workshop will offer the Bahraini talents a carefully structured syllabus allowing them to progress and consolidate their understanding of engraving, and their ability to produce engraved artworks, according to their creative personalities.
